Our services

Solar farm foundations: testing, design, manufacture, install.

One contract with one supplier covers everything from the first soil test to the last pile in the ground, and the same team stays on it across all five stages.

01 · Estimate

Initial data review & preliminary estimate.

Send us your site layout, soil reports and structural loads. We return a preliminary cost estimate for the full foundation scope, at no cost. If soil data is incomplete, we arrange the investigations.

02 · Testing

Test piling & load testing on your site.

Reference piles installed on your site and put through compression, tension and lateral tests. Measured capacity sizes every pile in the design. The only chargeable step before the main contract; savings on the foundation usually cover it. 50 % of test fees rebated when the project proceeds.

03 · Design

Designed to your ground.

Foundation designed to Eurocode 7, EN 61773 and ICC-ES AC358. Every pile dimension, spacing and connection sized to your soil and your structural loads. Pile-to-frame bracket matched to your racking (tracker or fixed-tilt), with the load path checked from panel to soil.

04 · Manufacturing

In-house manufacturing.

Piles and brackets manufactured at Paalupiste's EN 1090 Exc2 facilities. Capacity 3,500+ piles per week. Both robotic and manual welding in-house, qualified to EN ISO 3834-2: robots for high-volume linear runs, certified welders for brackets and awkward geometry. Nordic and European steel, low-carbon production. Every pile traceable to a heat number. Production runs in parallel with installation, so a ground surprise gets a re-spec without stopping the crew.

05 · Installation

GPS-guided installation, torque-verified per pile.

Install with our crews and our equipment, or let us train your team on ours. The fleet runs GPS-guided peat-track excavators for helical piles, GPS-guided ramming carriages for C-profile posts, and tracked carriers for soft-ground logistics. Every pile is torque-verified as it goes in, and the reading goes straight into the as-built.

Applications

Beyond the panels: foundations for every structure on a solar site.

Ground-mount PV panel arrays

We supply helical piles together with custom pile-to-frame brackets for any tracker or fixed-tilt racking. Each pile takes its compression, tension and lateral loads through helix bearing plus shaft friction, and we size it individually to the row it sits in.

Battery storage (BESS)

Stable, level foundations for battery containers and inverter platforms. 1,200+ piles for 250 containers at Cleve Hill BESS, UK.

Substations & switchgear

Heavy-duty foundations for transformers, switchgear and electrical compounds. 1,000+ piles for the Cleve Hill electrical compound.

Security fencing

We install perimeter fence posts without excavation, so there's no curing time and no wet concrete to wait on.

Lighting poles & weather masts

Lighting masts, poles and meteorological stations all go in with the same drilling fleet, again without excavation.

Industry challenges

Three things that make solar foundations harder than they look.

01

Soft Nordic ground

Peat and soft soils give a rammed C-profile nothing to grip. A helical pile takes capacity from helix bearing plus shaft friction, sized to the ground per pile and torque-verified at install.

02

The energy / construction gap

Solar developers come at this from the energy side, but foundations are a construction discipline — and one of the recurring headaches is sourcing four separate trades for testing, design, manufacturing and install. We cover all four under one contract, so the developer doesn't have to.

03

Fragmented supply chain

Four separate subs for testing, design, manufacture and install means coordination cost and disputes when ground shifts. All four under one contract from us, one signature on the quality record.
